Shenandoah Valley-based The Walking Roots Band will headline a first-ever festival of music and faith on Saturday, Aug. 27, at the CrossRoads Valley Brethren-Mennonite Heritage Center (VBMHC) in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The festival, a fund-raising event for VBMHC, highlights the intersection of the Mennonite and Brethren community's legacy of music with the Shenandoah Valley's unique voice. Other scheduled performers include Good Company, The Hatcher Boys, the Ears to the Ground Family, John Schmid of Common Ground Ministries, The Highlander String Band, the Blue Ridge Mountain Dulcimer Players and The Springs Ensemble. Almost all the performers are from the Shenandoah Valley. Children five and under can attend for no charge. Advance tickets are available via the website or at the heritage center. Visit singmehigh.com for more information and ticketing. Consider signing up with your Sunday School class or small group for a fun afternoon of good work and good music (and a free ticket, t-shirt, and meal). Parking is at Harrisonburg High School (handicapped parking at WSVA Radio Station), and a shuttle service will run to and from the festival grounds throughout the day. We invite you to join us at the Sing Me High Music Festival to listen, sing, laugh, eat, and play – all while you celebrate family, friends, and faith.
